Cheri Caleb’s videos are a marketer’s dream tool. When she first worked with our team in 2016, her remit was to produce a sizzle reel to capture the essence of the festival. She did that with aplomb, but did so much more, adding videos on personalities and events. Cheri is a delight to work with and is an intuitive self-starter. We used her videos to market the festival to attendees, to industry stakeholders and, importantly, to showcase the festival and its sponsors. The social media team loves her video assets. Cheri’s video work and mandate, which keeps expanding, is an integral part of the marketing and sponsorship mix @VanWineFest.

The feedback from the broader team was unanimous… These videos are exceptional! Some [of the team’s] direct quotes: ‘excellent’, ‘beautiful – gave me goosebumps’; ‘a fantastic job telling the Robert Mondavi Winery in a very elevated and elegant way, which is right on strategy’. We’re really please with how these turned out and glad that we were able to make it happen. Thanks for all your work!” Danielle D’Agostino, Arterra Wines Canada

I have done several videos with BVR worldwide, and I'm always impressed by the final product. Cheri is a tireless worker who pays attention to all the details, never losing sight of the fact that a video that doesn't tell a story is not worth making.

Anthony Gismondi,

Cheri is an absolute pleasure to work with. She's organized and creative, with a mellow vibe but excellent attention to detail. She can take your basic idea and make it better by helping you to refine and frame it in a compelling and professional way. Her experience as a digital storyteller and film maker is invaluable. I wholeheartedly recommend Back Valley Road!

Back Valley Road is a small studio that scales to the needs of the project. Whether you need to film a single interview or a six-part explainer series, we can get it done. Cheri Caleb founded the studio in 2015, producing, filming, editing and writing, and hiring from a network of talented contractors when needed. Cheri brings with her 22 years in sponsorship and brand marketing experience at The Vancouver Sun and 10 years of video production experience working with major brands around the world. Her goal is to make your job easier, providing services from start to finish, always working collaboratively according to your level of comfort. She emphasizes communication and planning to make sure that when you see the final product that exceeds your expectations. She loves working on projects where she can offer her marketing experience and can also connect you with excellent web designers, graphic designers and photographers to complete your marketing goals.

The name of the company refers to a dirt road leading from the small town in British Columbia’s Interior in which Cheri spent her formative years before moving to Vancouver and then California. While she’ll admit there may have been other, more self-evident names before this one, which had to be discarded after it was discovered they were already taken by someone else on the other side of the world, this name may have been fated as it is an appropriate representation of how we approach a project, with a spirit of exploration, a sense of adventure, and a desire to take the road less traveled.
